BIO

 

(Paris, 1977) Sound and kinetics have been the axes of his artistic practice, presenting his work in the form of sound installations, video, photography and performance. Self-taught musical study in the area of ​​traditional percussion, traveling through Africa and Latin America.

 

Specialized artistic teaching course in Audiovisual Communication at António Arroio School (1996).

He has participated in different exhibitions and artistic residencies, of which the following stand out: Jardins Concretos, program: ZDB, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (2020); Lisbon Soa'19 (2019); Desarvorar, Biblioteca Orlando Ribeiro (2018), Reminiscência, collective artistic residency, Museu da Luz (2017); Cuckoo clocks, Municipal Gallery of Montemor-o-Novo (2017); Troar, Artistic residence, Moinho da Fonte Santa (2016), Memorabilia, collective exhibition, Largo de São Paulo, Lisbon (2016); Salarium, artistic residence, Associação Corpo de Hoje / Figueira da Foz Cultural Center (2013), Suspension, artistic residence, Chateau de Monthelon, Burgundy, France (2013); Events, 3 sound installations, developed and presented at Espaço Avenida 211, Lisbon (2012); Caminho de Bicho, developed at the Oficinas do Convento and presented at the gallery Zé dos Bois - ZDB (2011-2010).

 

He has been part of the West Coast collective since 2016, participating in different performances, exhibitions and residences. He is the creator of the musical group Tumbala (2009). Also noteworthy is his experience as a trainer, in the co-creation of intersection workshops between sound and plastic arts, and of musical instruments: Roundabout Lx., Anjos, Lisbon (2017), Pisão Social Support Center, Santa Casa da Misericórdia, Cascais (2017), World Music Festival, Sines (2016); Associação Inestética Cultural - CM of Vila Franca de Xira (2010) or Associação Corpo de Hoje, Faro (2009).
